The Balm: How 'Bout Them Apples Review

theBalm How ‘Bout Them Apples? Lip & Cheek Cream Palette contains six shades of cream products that are designed to be used on the lips and cheeks. The formula is described as having a “smooth finish that won’t streak or fade.” With this product being a cream, I was a little worried as to how the texture would be. After wearing and trying all the shades on my cheeks, it’s definitely a true cream formula. It is very blendable and they function and wear better as cheek products than lip ones. As blushes, these are true creams, so that means they have dewier finishes. As stated, these blushes are very blendable and buildable. They are long wearing and very natural looking as well! The six shades in this palette are Cider, Cobbler, Pie, Crisp, Candy, & Caramel. All the shades give a matte finish, except Cider-which has shimmer!
Cider is a light peach with a faint hint of pink and a luminous sheen. It had semi-sheer color payoff.
Cobbler is a vibrant, orange-toned red with a luminous sheen. This shade had buildable color payoff that could be worn as a sheer, reddish tint or a bolder, brighter, candy-apple red. As a blush, it wore well for seven hours. This color mixed together with Caramel is my absolute favorite.
Pie is a pinky-red with a luminous sheen. It was buildable to semi-opaque coverage both on lips as well as cheeks.
Crisp is a warm-toned coral with gold shimmer and a frosted finish. The color was buildable to mostly opaque color coverage both on cheeks as well as on lips. The golden sheen is less prominent when I wore it as a blush and looks perfect on deeper skin tones!
Candy is a cool-toned, bubblegum pink with a luminous sheen. It had good color payoff, and it was easy to apply and blend on the skin.
Caramel is a muted, orange-brown with a luminous sheen and warm undertones. It had mostly opaque color payoff, and the color was buildable and blendable.

I purchased this palette from BeautySpin, which is an excellent site to find your cosmetic needs at a discounted price. For my international viewers, make sure you check out BeautySpin UK! For a more in depth review and demo make sure to check out the video below!!

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Review

The ever so popular makeup brand YSL has just launched a new lipstick collection rightfully know as "Rouge Pur Couture." I was sent 2 lipsticks from Influenster on behalf of YSL to review! I received the color Rose Stiletto & Fuchsia.
I must say that I absolutely love these lipsticks. Rose Stiletto, my favorite one, and is described as a rich berry red. Fuchsia is described, well of course, as a bright fuchsia. These lipsticks can be purchased from Sephora and retail for $36. Yes, this is a bit pricey for lipsticks but it's totally worth it. These YSL beauties glide on amazingly, the amount of color payoff in just one application is great. They are very soft, hydrating, and loaded with antioxidant goodies that are great for our lips!

I hope you enjoy this full review on my youtube channel that goes into detail about Influenster, YSL, and these lipsticks! There are swatches also which will allow you to see the color pigment on my skin tone as well as the color payoff. I hope you enjoy, & don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin' as well as subscribe to my YT channel! -Jay Quinn xoxo

Smashbox 'Camera Ready' BB Water Review + Demo

Hi beauties! This is a review of the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water. I have the full video below which includes a demo of the product. Make sure to subscribe to my channel if you haven't! I was so excited when Smashbox came out with this BB Water.  This BB water has built-in primer water technology which makes for a liquid silk-consistency - it literally glides onto your face, blends easily and moves with your skin. I love the fact that this product is alcohol-free and oil free. There is no drying, cracking or caking during wear. This BB water gives you sheer to medium coverage and leaves a radiant finish.

The specs of this BB water are as followed:

  • 1oz-$42
  • Primes: Blurs out imperfections like fine lines, pores and blemishes
  • Protects: SPF 30 helps shield skin from environmental damage-the only difference between this and the BB cream is the SPF.
  • Perfect: Sheer-to-medium coverage comes easy with its buildable, liquid-silk consistency. Plus, 8 forgiving shades means one for every skin tone. Guaranteed.
  • Hydrates: A revolutionary formula infused with elements of Primer Water quenches skin
  • Oil & alcohol free
