YSL Rouge Pur Couture Review

The ever so popular makeup brand YSL has just launched a new lipstick collection rightfully know as "Rouge Pur Couture." I was sent 2 lipsticks from Influenster on behalf of YSL to review! I received the color Rose Stiletto & Fuchsia.
I must say that I absolutely love these lipsticks. Rose Stiletto, my favorite one, and is described as a rich berry red. Fuchsia is described, well of course, as a bright fuchsia. These lipsticks can be purchased from Sephora and retail for $36. Yes, this is a bit pricey for lipsticks but it's totally worth it. These YSL beauties glide on amazingly, the amount of color payoff in just one application is great. They are very soft, hydrating, and loaded with antioxidant goodies that are great for our lips!

I hope you enjoy this full review on my youtube channel that goes into detail about Influenster, YSL, and these lipsticks! There are swatches also which will allow you to see the color pigment on my skin tone as well as the color payoff. I hope you enjoy, & don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin' as well as subscribe to my YT channel! -Jay Quinn xoxo

Lucie+Pompette Lip Batter!

So you may be wondering, what is lip batter? Lip Batter is a 3-in-1 lipgloss that acts as a Lip Plumper, Gloss and Treatment. This hybrid gloss is brought to you by Lucie+Pompette from California. Lip Batter is a long wear, moisture-rich formula that acts like a treatment, plumps gently without irritation, and provides a natural healthy sheen to the lips.
The super cute Parisian theme that this company uses is what really attracted me to them! The lip batters come in 5 shades and retail for $19.50, they also have a super cute clutch that you can carry them all around in for $18.50.

What Lip Batter is: 3-in-1 triple-threat lip plumper, gloss and treatment in one. The multi-tasking formula creates the look of voluptuous, youthful lips, with all-day hydration and a chic wash of color.

What Lip Batter Does: This lip gloss locks in moisture, fills fine lines, and hydrates all day. A unique, flexible applicator hugs every curve of the lips, providing a flawless, precise application. The sheer tints of each color are infused with subtle, light-reflecting micro-pigments to create the illusion of fuller lips. A delicate tingle stimulates blood flow to the lips for natural plumping effects. Apply liberally for best results.

What Lip Batter is made of: This one-of-a-kind formula includes a cocktail of vitamin E, green tea, and white tea for anti-aging benefits. Boasting a light vanilla scent inspired by fresh macarons. Lucie + pompette products are vegan, cruelty-free and paraben-free also...yayyyy!

So as you can tell by the title, I just attended my last first day of class! What's so special about this day you wonder? Well this was my last first day of class as an undergrad at USC! I can't believe I will be graduating in Dec. with my Bachelors in Nursing. I selected the outfit I am wearing because since we are transitioning into Fall, I wanted to wear some booties that I have which are my absolute favorite! So today's #ootd details are listed below. I hope you enjoy. Follow me on bloglovin' (link at the top) and I can't wait to continue to bring you more of my Fall Fashion! Multi-Masking

Hi! So multi-masking is a term that has been going around the beauty community for awhile. What is multi-masking you ask? Well its simply using different mask in different areas of your face to address your various skincare concerns.

My skin is dry yet some time oily in the T zone. I also get the occasional breakout on my forehead and chin area. I have my video below that shows two my favorite masking products right now. I hope you enjoy. Don't forget to subscribe also and stay updated with my video!

Smashbox 'Camera Ready' BB Water Review + Demo

Hi beauties! This is a review of the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water. I have the full video below which includes a demo of the product. Make sure to subscribe to my channel if you haven't! I was so excited when Smashbox came out with this BB Water.  This BB water has built-in primer water technology which makes for a liquid silk-consistency - it literally glides onto your face, blends easily and moves with your skin. I love the fact that this product is alcohol-free and oil free. There is no drying, cracking or caking during wear. This BB water gives you sheer to medium coverage and leaves a radiant finish.

The specs of this BB water are as followed:

  • 1oz-$42
  • Primes: Blurs out imperfections like fine lines, pores and blemishes
  • Protects: SPF 30 helps shield skin from environmental damage-the only difference between this and the BB cream is the SPF.
  • Perfect: Sheer-to-medium coverage comes easy with its buildable, liquid-silk consistency. Plus, 8 forgiving shades means one for every skin tone. Guaranteed.
  • Hydrates: A revolutionary formula infused with elements of Primer Water quenches skin
  • Oil & alcohol free

South Africa Rendezvous

Hi guys!! So I know it's been a while since I was able to post. I've been so busy taking two summer classes as I prepare for graduation in December! I want to share with you all about my trip to Cape Town this past June! So I was able to travel to Cape Town June 16-27th for my Community Health nursing course. I spent 12 days in Cape Town along with 7 other students and together we worked along side Extreme Response and their partners Living Hope and New Beginnings. I was able to serve the local communities while there in the Western Cape.

I had such a great time performing health screenings in the local community, which consisted of blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks, height, weight, and BMI assessments, as well as TB screenings and HIV testing. This trip provided me with an opportunity to explore the roles of the community health nurses that work in South Africa. As a nursing student I became aware of my perceptions in my goal of becoming more culturally competent. I believe this trip provided me with the relevant aspects of cultural knowledge. As I engaged first hand with a new cultural group I learned how our own attitudes could influence our perceptions about cultural differences.
During my time in Cape Town I was able to really get a chance to explore the area and do some "touristy" things as well. We all went to Fairview Farms, which is a vineyard, and we had wine and cheese tasting. We also spent two nights on Buffelsfontein which is a game reserve! On the game reserve I was impacted by just the presence of the wild animals. Seeing them up close was amazing and standing so close to a cheetah was unbelievable!

Among other things, we all went to Table Mountain, toured the hospital where the 1st heart transplant in history happened, the Nursing School at the University of The Western Cape and the southern most point of South Africa, called the Cape Of Good Hope!

The hightlight of my trip was the incredible time I had loving on the kids of a local daycare we wentto visit! During my time in Cape Town I learned so much information about nursing, healthcare, and history. I am very thankful for the opportunity to have traveled to South Africa. This trip will always be one of the most memorable trips I’ve been on. Getting to know various individuals in South Africa was such a blessing. I enjoyed sharing pictures of my family with them, as well as taking pictures with them. My trip to Cape Town was undoubtedly a life-changing experience. I know that I have grown as a person and this experience will help me be more of an empathetic and culturally competent nurse.

Travel Tip: Surviving A Long Haul Flight ✈️✈️

Monday I'll be heading out on my trip!! For those that are interested in knowing where I'm going and what's in my carry on check it out here :) For this trip it will be a 20+ hour flight, so flights stretching longer than 8 hours there are certain must have essentials you need in your carry on! Everyone has different priorities and needs for comfortable travel. My list can be used a reference guide or a good starting point for less-experienced travelers.

Good Seats: A definite must for a long haul flight. I always like to upgrade to Economy Comfort seats for extra leg room. Reserving your seat by the window or is always best. The window gives you the view and the isle gives you easy access to the bathroom.

Sleeping Aids:
These are good if you don't think your going to be able to sleep on your flight. I always like comfy items that promote sleep such as a neck pillow, ear plugs and an eye mask!

Stay Hydrated: It's extremely important to stay hydrated while traveling. Water is your best friend while flying because the recirculated air will dehydrate you fast.

Carry On: Make sure you have everything you need to stay entertained on the plane. Just remember anything over 100ml cannot go into your carry on.

Movement: Staying active and moving is very important because you need to keep your blood pumping around your body. Get up and walk down the isles or to the bathroom to stretch your legs. Compression socks are also nice to keep your legs from swelling .

Smashbox BB Cream Review + Demo

Hi beauty lovers!! As you can tell by the title of this post I am going to be discussing my thoughts on the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream. Hope you enjoy!

Ok so I have been looking for a really nice BB cream for a while now. BB stands for beauty balm, incase you were wondering. I have been doing research and reading reviews for a number of different BB creams, but the Smashbox one really stood out to me. The other day I went to my local Ulta Beauty store and was just browsing around. I began to talk to the lady working there about BB creams that were good for dry skin, and also African American skin. She redirected me over to the Smashbox section and began to tell me about their BB cream. So to make a long story short, I purchased the product, used it the next day, and have been loving it ever since!!

Stats: This BB cream has an SPF of 35, and it's also a 5 in 1. That means it it also moisturizes, primes, protects, controls oil, and perfects. This BB Cream adds a glowing, hydrating veil to the complexion to maintain moisture on the surface of the skin. It is appropriate for all skin types, fragrance free, dermatologist tested, and non-acnegenic.
Beauty Balms or BB Creams are all the rage in Asia!!
This product was originally developed as a post-procedure cream used to treat, hydrate, prime, protect, and camouflage the skin. Great for all skin types including those with sensitive skin, these versatile “five-in-one” formulas are designed to do it all. What I love about this BB cream is that the unique formula creates "progressive" coverage, which means you can achieve different levels of coverage depending on what you need. This is the perfect product for the summer when you want coverage without the heavy foundation feel!
